How did you become interested in Fashion/Style?
My good friend, Desiree & my self-confidence. Desiree is inspiring when it comes to fashion. She can look at one article of clothing and instantly know how to complete the look in her mind. This makes for a great shopping buddy. I also believe that your day can be completely turned around just by dressing and looking "put together."
Who is your celebrity doppelganger?
I'm not sure who I look like, but I have been told multiple times that I sound like Mira Sorvino in Romy & Michele's High School Reunion, and Kat Von D.
Tell me about the best party you've ever been to.
My friend's wedding. She had a great DJ, and a mini bar that we could pour our own drinks at. Didn't think anything could get better than "open bar" but I was wrong. DIY bar all the way.
Tell me about your greatest accomplishment.
A year ago, I ran a full marathon. This year, I created/directed a short film that will be showing at SXSW '14. It's a tie between both!
If you could have one talent, and be amazing at it, what would it be?
I would love to be hyper-observant. My dream job is to be a "detective" but only if I'm as good at observation and deduction as Sherlock Holmes.
Who is the most embarrassing musician you've ever listened to? Do you still listen to them?
I was embarrassed when I was really into Hanson. They were the only group I was literally afraid my friends would find out I listened to. Now, though, I appreciate the nostalgia that comes with them. I do not listen to them still, however.
Where do you tell your out-of-town friends to go when they visit Austin?
I make sure to take them to at least one vegetarian spot, usually Mr. Natural. Or, I'll suggest Kerbey Lane and Bouldin Creek Cafe. For fun, I recommend Barton Springs, and downtown shopping. Most of all, though, I recommend the coffee shops. I'm a crazy coffee fanatic, and this city has such great coffee.
Your mother and grandmother aside, who is the most inspirational woman to you and why? If you are only inspired by your mother, tell me why.
My mom and grandmother aside, who are incredible...I'll say Shakira. Haha. Yeah, even with Mother Theresa and Susan B. Anthony on the table. She seems so humble, and she definitely embodies the Latin woman and has broken ground like no other. She's successful, beautiful (and embraces it!), talented, and very giving without being cocky. And seriously...moving your hips that way is insanely hard. Try it. I dare you.
Were you voted as anything in High School? If not, what would you have most likely been voted as?
I wasn't. I don't think our high school did things like that. But, if they did, I would have gotten "Worst Hair."
Tell me more about yourself! Your hobbies, your day, your future, your family.
Laughing is my favorite hobby, with film-making coming in a close second. I love coffee, cheap beer, traveling, and makeup.
